First Snow!! Here we Go!!

Sunday morning we woke up to our first real snow fall here. The kids were so excited!! It was all I could do to keep them out of it before church. As soon as church was over, they were running through the snow outside of the church in their nice Sunday shoes, then came into the church soaking wet. I even caught Adam trying to bring snowballs inside the church. (not a good idea).
I guess there is an old wives tale where you can take the day of the month of the first measurable snowfall of the season, and that is how many big snowstorms you will have that winter. So, supposedly since it snowed on the 30th of November there will be 30 snowstorms. (last year the first measurable snowfall was on the 20th, and it was one of the worst winters recorded. Let's hope this isn't true!!)

Here is what we woke up to the next day (Monday morning). The kids were so excited to wear all their snow gear to school.

By the end of Tuesday a lot of the snow had melted in the front yard. I heard a big snowstorm was coming Wednesday, so once again, I bundled them up for school. As I watched the kids walk away, Jacob reminded me of Ralphy's little brother, Randy, on A Christmas Story, as he waddled away. :) (picture was taken in the driveway)

This is what they came home to. School was let out early due to the weather. The kids were so excited when they got home. They thought getting out of school early to go play in the snow was pretty cool. Joey was the only one brave enough though to go out and play. (and that only lasted about for about 5 minutes)
Here is the driveway now.

Are we ready for this? Not to sure. It is cold, but you can do anything you put your mind to, right?

WOW! That is beautiful! We havent had a snow fall that has stayed on the ground yet. I'm glad it's you there and not me. I don't know if I can handle much colder here.
