Pacifier is gone!!

Bekah has always been a fan of the pacifier, she called it her "as-ire" :) I've have tried many times to limit the time she has it and have it only for nap time or bed time. Lately though she has become obsessed with it, and it was constantly in her mouth.(notice the other pictures in other postings. More often than not, it's in her mouth) She is behind in her speech and it is hard to understand a lot of what she is saying, and I know it is because of her pacifier. I've known for awhile that it was time to "get rid of it" but I have always pushed it aside until finally I DID IT!! She has been driving John and I crazy because she has been really whinny and fussy and I thought this might help. Her pacifier finally broke (with a little help from mom and some scissors). She went to put it in her mouth before nap time, and quickly took it out, and inspected it, then said "UH OH! Broken!" Then she handed it to me and said "here, I go find nother one!" (which they were all hidden) After she couldn't find one, she came back and tried the broken one again. I told her she needed to throw it away, and she went to the garbage can and debated for a long time whether to put it in. After awhile, she gave up and put it back on the counter. Later that night, before bed, she ran to get it and brought it to John and said "Daddy, Broken! Fix it!" (of course dad can fix anything) He explained she was a big girl, and big girls don't need pacifier's. She seemed fine with that and went to bed. This picture is accurate of how she has been acting the last couple weeks.

This is day 2 of no pacifier. I can already tell a huge difference and she seems to be talking and singing all the time. We are still trying to master the whole "going to bed thing" without it, but so far so good!! This was her after helping (watching) Dad shovel the snow.

Here is John and Joey shoveling the snow in the driveway, A new thing that the boys better get used to. Sure! It was fun the first time, we'll see how they feel about it come March. :) Joey was a great helper! Now we just have to get Adam and Jacob out there!!

Yeah! That is so great. She looks a lot happier without it. I love her singing too, so I am glad I get to hear it more:)

Oh, I remember those days with Tyler! It is amazing the things you hear them say or the smiles you get when the passafire is gone!
