Jacob and Joey both did basketball at the Y this winter. I think they both had a good experience. Usually by the end of whatever sport they are participating in they are so ready to quit by the end. This time, both were sad it was over. I on the other had was glad it was over. It is just too hard to sit by myself with four kids. Trying to contain Luke in a stroller for those two hours (sometimes three on double games) got pretty challenging. He is such an active kid and just wants to run.....where ever he is NOT supposed to.
With Jacobs team it was fun to watch them just learn the concept of basketball. Jacob, of course always wanted to do his best, so he never really dribbled, or shot the ball because he had not yet perfected those skills :), but hey, he was really good at assists! :) As soon as someone passed him the ball he would quickly pass it to another. Too Cute!!

It was a small team, so the each child got to play a lot. His team won every game though!! That's always nice!

Joey had never played basketball before so this was all really new to him. He did a great job at learning the game and by the end his skills were really improving. I'm just glad he found a sport he enjoys. (On a side note, Joey was one of the top competitors in his school's knockout tournament (a basketball shooting tournament). He was the only boy to go represent his class. Yay, Joey!!

Joey's team had pictures after the last game, and unfortunately there were quite a few kids missing that day. They had a couple of really good players though, so they won all of their games except the last one. :) Joey had a great coach though and I think that made all the difference. He was so good at making each player feel that they were needed and they each contributed. I love good coaches!! :)
