Ever since spring we've had two calves and their momma's in the field behind our fence in the backyard. The kids have had a lot of fun feeding them and watching the calves grow. I love having this country life without the hard work of caring for the animals. (this is Luke's picture face...he is saying "cheese")

Our lilac bushes bloomed for a couple of weeks and were absolutely gorgeous and smelled wonderful! I had Bekah stand in front of them for a picture partly because my mom always did that with me with our lilac bushes. (I thought she would appreciate it)

The kids helped me plant a strawberry patch. We were hoping for lots of strawberries this summer, but the rabbits got to half of them. :( The kids at least had fun putting them in. Next year hopefully......

I'm glad that you can all enjoy the scent of the lilacs. That shot of Luke looks JUST like his mama when she was little!
I checked your blog just last night to see if you had posted anything. this was all worth waiting for!
Country living is fun...at least I think so. We have to feed our animals, though no cows yet.
We planted strawberries here too, but it was the elk that ate ours...and the tomatoes, and the peppers, and the...well, you get the idea.
