Sunday Brunch

Sheila is so kind and wonderful! She invited everyone to come to her house the morning after the wedding for Sunday Brunch. It didn't start till 11:00 (I'm sure a lot of people still felt like that was too early...I know a lot of people were feeling regrets from the night before) :) All of our family that were still in town came, and a lot of Jeff's family came also. Aunt Joanne made the best eggs Benedict for everyone on demand. She is quite the Chef and had the system down. I tried to help, but I'm sure I made matters worse, like burning the English muffins. :) It was great to see everyone before we were all heading home. It was especially nice to visit with Uncle Larry and Aunt Joanne, since we really hadn't had time to before. They offered us to come visit their home in Chicago, they may be changing the minds. :)

Later on we all gathered around and watched Jeff and Mary open their gifts.

We had given them a digital blender, kinda as a joke, because we got one just like it for Christmas and Mary said she wanted one too... So we got her one! I'm sure they already have a blender. It is a pretty cool one though with a timer and everything.... it makes perfect drinks. You can see the excitement on Jeff's face. I told her they could return it, it wouldn't hurt our feelings one bit! :)

On a side note, my parents had stayed the night with us and went home this afternoon. John needed help to give a close friend of the family a priesthood blessing and my dad offered to stay and help him. They took off for home shortly after the brunch. We shouldn't have let them go with a full and content tummy, it put my poor father to sleep! I was just sick when heard the news, my dad had fallen asleep driving through the Superior Mountains, just outside of the tunnel. My mom was also sleeping at the time. We were all extremely grateful though that they both were okay, just some pretty bad bruises, and that no one else was involved. I know they had guardian angels that day!! That part of the Mountain has many cliffs and windy roads. Luckily my dad went across the lanes and ran into the side of the mountain, instead of veering off to his right, off a steep cliff. We are all shaking our heads. Life can change so quickly. They were rushed to the hospital in Globe and then were later sent home. My brother and his wife came and picked them up. We are so, so thankful that they are alright. They are both really excited to serve a mission this summer and are getting their papers in order. I really think the Lord saved them so that they can fulfill that mission. Obviously, they both have more work to do, which we are all so grateful for.
