Tonight was date night!! I was so ready to get out! The Stake was having a Valentines Day Dance and Dinner, and we had planned on going...but on the way there, plans changed. The dinner started at 6:00, and we of course were running late. We didn't leave our house until 6:00 and we still had about a 45 minute drive to the Stake Center. Last year we were late (surprise, surprise) and we ended up being sat to eat in the foyer with a few other couples. We felt a little excluded. We really didn't want a repeat of last year!! John had brought up Olive Garden as we headed into town (he thought we were going the week before when I had planned the surprise party). After he mentioned Olive Garden I was sold!! We knew it might be busy because tomorrow was Valentines Day, but we thought we could beat the rush. Boy were we wrong!! We got there and they said it would be a 3 hour wait. Holy Cow!! Who would wait for 3 Hours!!! We had also debated going to a movie earlier, so a movie it was. There was no wait and we even got dinner there. I got chicken strips and John got Nachos. (Not really Olive Garden, but wasn't bad) :)
We saw the movie Valentines Day. The overall storyline of the movie was cute, but it had a lot of "scenes" and "things" they could have done without. Suffice to say, I would not recommend it, but I didn't hate it! If you really want to see it, don't spend a lot of money, just wait and rent it. I thought it would be super good since there were so many stars in it, I was disappointed!
As long as I was with the love of my life though nothing mattered... just that we were together. Thanks John, for letting me choose the chick flick over Avatar and make it such a great night! You're the best!!
Happy Valentines Day!!!
