Jacob's Birthday!

Jacob was King for the day!! I let the kids choose what they want for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so here is what Jacob chose.
For Breakfast we had waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, for lunch I took him out to "Subway, and for dinner he wanted to go to "Noodles and Company". I was surprised he chose that restaurant, but he really wanted their chicken noodle soup. Must be some soup (0r just really cold outside)!! He was happy though!!

After dinner we came home and had our family party with presents and cake. He really wanted a store bought cake (Joey had one) so when we were at target he chose this one. I didn't really agree, but John was with him when he picked it out and he said he really wanted it...so whatever. It was BIG!! We'll be eating that cake forever!! Of course the other kids all had fun choosing their presents for him.

The BIG 7 year old

This is the bike that I had won at the silent auction at the kids school fund raiser night. Jacob really wanted it, so I told him I would bid on it but I wasn't making any promises. Well, nobody out bid me so we got it!! Jacob was funny all night at that fund raiser, he kept checking the paper and then he would give me the thumbs up sign. After we got it he said he would forget all about it so it would be a surprise for his birthday!! He did a good job at acting surprised! His brothers were surprised, they never noticed the bike sitting in our garage...I guess it's time to clean the garage!! I found the perfect hiding place!!!

Poor kid though....we had him close his eyes and then walked him to the bike and had him open them. He looked at the bike, we took a picture, and then he said "Well, I can't wait for spring!!" and then that was the end of that! He went over to his other presents and played with them, not even looking back. :) He is now anxiously awaiting spring....I think we all are!!!

I think that is one of the funniest things the kids have ever said - next to "Oh THERE'S the house!" They both epitomize a long Iowa winter. Kudos to you all for enduring. Spring will come! It always does.

I also love your good hiding place. We all have them.
