Sunday Roast

I have heard that certain smells can trigger memories, and for me it is ALWAYS a Sunday roast!! That smell reminds me of home. It brings back memories of me walking in through the door as a little girl, starving after church, and having my mouth water at the aroma!! Now I'm sure we didn't have a roast EVERY Sunday, but that's what I remember. I have always LOVED my mothers roast, but I can't seem to make it the same. Mine always get dried out. But, I'll never forget the rules to seasoning it....salt it till it's white, pepper it till it's black, and paprika it till it's red. Put it in the oven at 350 for 3 hours, and you've got the perfect roast! You can't go wrong....unless it gets dried out! :)

So today, as I was reminiscing about the good ole' days, I was reminded of my Grandmothers Angel biscuits, so I decided to make those too!!

I must be feeling homesick!!

On a sad note... Bekah had an accident tonight and had hit her mouth while she and Adam were playing (a little too rough). They were wrestling on our Futon downstairs, and she hit her mouth on the metal arm railing. That poor girl!! A couple weeks ago she had hit the same two front teeth and knocked them loose so I was really surprised that her teeth were still there! It was a little traumatic for her. We made her a bed on the couch and put on a princess movie and before you knew it she was out!!

(sorry if the sight of blood bothers you)

She woke up much happier and let me actually get a look at her mouth. She has pushed one of her teeth back a little bit, so they're not totally even, but they have always been a little crooked. I just hope her tooth doesn't turn brown like Jacobs did after he knocked his tooth loose!! She has always had such a pretty smile! Oh well, like John says, she will start loosing her teeth in a couple of years so it won't matter!! I just hope she heals fast...I hear mouths do!
