Surprise!!

I planned a surprise birthday party for John. (we celebrated a couple day's early) He always has given people a hard time when they turn 30, so I wanted to be sure to make this a good one!! ;) Thanks to our friends, the Wicke's, I was able to pull it off. I was actually surprised that I pulled it off without John knowing. (I am so bad at secrets and at not looking suspicious. Looking back, John says he should have seen it coming.) I didn't tell the kids because I knew they would blow it. :) Adam actually had gone out with John to "help a friend" ;) so he was just as surprised. Joey and Jacob had a ton of fun helping me quickly get things ready after they had left.

I had invited just a few of our friends, our house isn't set up the best for entertaining....someday!! We had enjoyed a nice dinner though and a fun game after. The kids had a blast too (I kinda let them have full ride over the basement). I think we all had a great time...at least I hope so.

Afterward, John told me that he thinks "surprise" parties are over rated! I think it was a little embarrassing walking in and having everyone stare at him. :) He was just bummed that he missed being part of the record breaking weekend for the showing of Avatar. (He thought we were going out on a date) To be honest though, I think he really did like all the attention and that he would have chosen to have the party over Avatar!! :)
