Friday Fun!!

Friday, January 15th, 2010
John and the two older boys are on a camp out tonight! Joey is now an 11 year old scout, and the scouts are supposed to do a winter camp out. Our church has a rule that they young scouts have to be accompanied by their fathers. John was excited to go out with him, and he decided to let Adam tag along too. (he was excited, but I don't know how he felt about the cold!) They were supposed to have their camp out last week, but we had freezing temperatures with wind chill, so they cancelled. Tonight was soooo much better! (it's a steamy 25 degrees outside) :) I just hope they stay warm. I told the boys to just sleep in their snow gear, that will hopefully keep them nice and warm...John on the other hand, I tried to get him to take the snuggie, but he wouldn't do it! :)

The rest of us on the other hand, stayed inside where it was NICE and WARM!! We had movie night, and I let Jacob pick out what he wanted for dinner. He immediately chose Kids Cuisine (a favorite frozen dinner) Fine with me...No cooking tonight...well does the microwave count? I let the kids eat out in the front room and watch a movie. They were really excited about it. (it's not too hard to entertain them.)

After dinner, it was ICE CREAM SUNDAE'S!! (they even got 2 cherries on top!!)

After ice cream it was bath time and then off to bed! Jacob's last words to me were "Mom, I don't really like to go camping because you can't brush your teeth" which you really can. :) But then I added "and there is no bathroom, and you get really dirty, and you sleep on the hard floor...I don't really like it either" He then made a face and then said "I never want to go camping" Oops! Hope I didn't ruin all the fun he could have in the future!!

They are all growing up so fast. It may be hard to get Jacob on a camp out - he will never forget - he's so smart. Thanks for the pictures and the funny comments. It's almost like being there. Keep up the good work. Even you will be able to look back and realize it wasn't all laundry and whiny kids. You are growing real people. A great project!
