Ice Storm Day 2

Thursday, January 21, 2010
No school AGAIN today!! It's always nice to get that early morning phone call saying "I have a weather related message....school is cancelled" only I wish somehow they can do it the night before!! Once I have been woken up it is hard for me to fall back asleep...of course I always will. :) I know if I would just get up I could get so much accomplished, especially with the kids sleeping. But, my nice warm bed was calling my name.
The kids decided today to finally go outside and play. They had a ton fun slippin' and slidin'. (luckily no one was hurt too bad) :) With all the ice out there, it WAS pretty slippery AND cold!!

After fun in the snow, it was time to go inside and enjoy some homemade creamy potato soup in some warm fresh baked bread bowls! I got a recipe for the bread bowls from my friend, so I was excited to try it out. We all loved it! The kids thought that it was pretty awesome that they got to eat the bowl, they even said it was like on "Charlie and Chocolate Factory". When John came home for dinner he asked about the bread bowls. I told him "I" made them. He was pretty impressed. He said "You know how to do that?" Yeah, I was pretty proud of myself! :)

That really is major ice you have! Glad that all the rain we are finally getting isn't freezing . . can you imagine what a mess with all these desert dwellers trying to drive in it!!

Be careful!

We have ice and over 3 feet of snow! Yikes! I'm glad the kids got out to enjoy it all. We hope to once this storm passes...the sledding will rock!
